Oliver has 17 years of experience as a Landscape Architect working for both boutique practices and international multi-disciplinary design companies in Canada, the UK, and the US.
He is passionate about landscape design and strives to create beautiful, modern landscapes that most of all, are places for people to use and enjoy.
Oliver’s experience enables him to create site designs that maximize aesthetics and function but are also cost-effective and long-lasting. He strives to include good practice and experience from the countries where he has worked into each project by ensuring sites where possible: are accessible to all; have sustainable drainage features; use local materials and vernacular and have low maintenance and pollinator planting.
He has worked on projects across the Atlantic Provinces including commercial multi-unit housing and private residences, historic sites, hospitals, parks, schools, sports facilities, streetscapes, and universities. Oliver has managed projects and project teams, worked on LEED projects, and continues to build good relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors on each new project.
Oliver mentors graduates and junior landscape architects as they enter and progress their careers and enjoys being a guest adjudicator at the undergraduate Landscape Architecture program at Dalhousie University.
Before becoming a landscape Architect, Oliver spent a year doing conservation work in Australia after ten years in the UK music industry both touring and at record labels.
