Sarah completed her Master of Planning at Dalhousie University in May 2026 and is now working full-time as a Planner with UPLAND Planning & Design. She also holds a Bachelor of Community Development and Environmental & Sustainability Studies (Co-op) from Acadia University, with a minor in Business Administration.

Sarah first joined UPLAND as an intern during her undergraduate studies and continued working with the team part-time throughout her Master’s degree. She also completed a co-op placement with UPLAND, where she contributed to a range of planning projects with a particular focus on community engagement and communications.

During the final year of her Master’s degree, Sarah completed a research project exploring how planning can foster inclusion for equity-deserving groups in Canada. This research was part of a larger collaborative project with the American Planning Association’s LGBTQ+ and Women & Planning Divisions, as well as the Women in Planning Forum at Cornell University. Through this work, Sarah identified planning mechanisms and strategies that have advanced inclusion for women, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities in Canada. Through this research, Sarah added to an inventory of inclusive planning practices and academic research on equitable and inclusive planning in Canada.

Sarah is a skilled communicator with strong facilitation and public engagement experience. Throughout her studies, she developed a comprehensive understanding of community wellness, equity, social justice, sustainability, and equitable planning. Sarah is particularly passionate about how thoughtful planning can create resilient, equitable, and environmentally conscious communities, and she brings a people-centred approach to her work.
