Nick is a Senior Planner with UPLAND where he plays a leading role in growing the firm’s Western Canadian practice. Based in Calgary, he brings over a decade of award-winning municipal and consulting experience to projects across Canada, with particular depth in Alberta and British Columbia. His work spans comprehensive and growth planning, neighbourhood and secondary plans, development approvals, municipal policy, and master planning.

Nick’s practice is grounded in the belief that good planning starts with local context. He has worked with communities ranging from major cities to small towns, rural counties, and northern communities, helping translate local priorities into clear, implementable policy. At the same time, his national project experience allows him to bring local lessons from other jurisdictions to local questions around housing, growth, infrastructure, climate resilience, and community change.

Outside of UPLAND, Nick is an active community volunteer and advocate for the planning profession, having formerly served on both APPI and CIP’s Boards of Directors, as Vice-Chair of the Calgary Parking Authority, and on multiple community association planning and development committees.
